Led by Chief Scott Fisher (since 2021), Big River is equipped with three Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances that run calls around the clock every day of the year. The District averages 3,500 emergency (911) calls per year.
Construction on District House #1
On November 25, 2023, Big River Ambulance District broke ground on the new location for House #1, which will also serve as the District headquarters. The taxpayers approved the new project via the Proposition Safety bond issue, which was on the ballot in 2022. The new location will be completed in late 2024.

Big River Ambulance District Board of Directors
A Board of Directors advises and oversees the Big River Ambulance District. The Board is composed of six elected members, who meet once per month. The Board approves managerial and financial decisions for the District, and members are elected to serve three-year terms.
Josh Williams, a resident of Dittmer, currently serves as the District's Board of Directors Chairman.
